Birds of Prey

 On Friday we were visited by Mike from the Welsh Birds of Prey Centre. We were amazed at the different birds, some of us were even brave enough to hold them! Mike told us lots of interesting facts about the different birds, we learnt a lot of new things.

Dinosaur Models

In science we have been learning about different materials. We used our knowledge of materials to design and make our own dinosaur models.

Trip to Aust

At the end of term 1 Year 1 and Year 2 children went to Aust to collect fossils.

Ed Drewitt, who is a fossil expert, told us lots of information about Aust and how to look for fossils.
We were amazed how much he knew!

 

We had lots of fun searching for fossils on the beach and we all found one to take home.

 Ed talked to us about the cliffs, he explained the oldest part is at the bottom.

 

Black History Week

Black History Week at Cabot is well under way. On Monday we really enjoyed learning some African dances with Louis. Do you like our African outfits?




Year 2 are learning about Chinwe Roy who was a Nigerian born artist. She painted the portrait of herself, we will also be painting self portrait this week.

Welcome to Year 2!  We have had an excellent start to the new school year and have already learnt lots of new and interesting things about dinosaurs.  We have all been looking ahead to the coming year and thinking about we will need to do to have a successful year.
