Growing!

Our topic this term is 'Growing'.

We have planted some seeds and will be watching carefully to see the changes as it grows into a plant.

Book Week

 

 This week is Book Week at Cabot primary School. We started off the week with a fantastic trip to Foyles Book Shop. When we were there we listened to a very funny but disgusting story, we did a treasure hunt and all collected our free World Book Day book!

Stormy Weather!

As Part of our 'Explorers' topic we designed and made our own boats. we then put them to the test in some very stormy and windy weather! Some of our boats capsized in the storm but some managed to withstand the terrible weather and stayed upright.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back. We hope everybody had a relaxing holiday and a good start to 2014.

EXPLORERS!
This term our topic is 'explorers'. Please use this as an opportunity to do some exploring with your child, this could be locally around St Pauls or further afield. If you have any photos of you and your children exploring or visiting different places we would love to see them.

Birds of Prey

 On Friday we were visited by Mike from the Welsh Birds of Prey Centre. We were amazed at the different birds, some of us were even brave enough to hold them! Mike told us lots of interesting facts about the different birds, we learnt a lot of new things.

Dinosaur Models

In science we have been learning about different materials. We used our knowledge of materials to design and make our own dinosaur models.

Trip to Aust

At the end of term 1 Year 1 and Year 2 children went to Aust to collect fossils.

Ed Drewitt, who is a fossil expert, told us lots of information about Aust and how to look for fossils.
We were amazed how much he knew!

 

We had lots of fun searching for fossils on the beach and we all found one to take home.

 Ed talked to us about the cliffs, he explained the oldest part is at the bottom.
